宋孝宗赵慎（一一二七～一一九四），字元永，秀王称子，生于秀州。初名伯琮，高宗绍兴二年（一一三二）选育宫中，赐名瑗。十二年，封普安郡王。三十年，立为皇子，更名玮，进封建王，赐字元瑰。三十二年，立为皇太子，改今名，赐今字。同年，即皇帝位。建元隆兴、乾道、淳熙，在位二十七年。淳熙十六年（一一八九）传位于其子赵惇（光宗），尊为至尊寿皇圣帝。光宗绍熙五年卒，年六十八。事见《宋史》卷三三至三五《孝宗纪》。 宋孝宗诗，据《周文忠集》等书所录，编为一卷。
