译文
像花儿一般的容貌。当初我就和你约定，愿意和你白头偕老。你当时正处于美妙年华而且长的俊俏人又聪明，爽朗无拘的性格让我在方方面面对你关怀备至，哪里料到你养成了狭小的心思性情，原来你竟表里不一。渐产生了与你分手的想法。
渐渐觉得难以维持我们的感情，变得如此急躁烦恼。怎能忘记我们之间一起有过的欢笑。如果我再与你同拾旧好，就好比是琴瑟之弦已经断了，再接续之时又接错了一样，夫妻离异，犹如泼水于地，不能再复合。你常常向别人述说这些事，又时常寄些书信过来。读过之后，只能白白地悔恨懊恼。想起往事，我们到底哪里出错了。
注释
八六子：词牌名，又名《感黄鹂》，《乐章集》注“平调”。此调有数体，九十字至九十三字不等。然常体为平韵，此词为仄韵，其为柳永依旧曲而自制新声。
当来：原来，起初。
妙年：青春年少。俊格：俊俏，漂亮。格，语助词，无实意。
凌厉：本指勇往直前，气势猛烈，这里是爽朗无拘的意思。
何期：哪里料到。心性近：心思性情不涵厚。近，浅陋。
元来：同“原来”，表示发现原先不知道的情况。相表：即“相表里”的简写。
分飞：分别，分离。计料：打算。
稍：渐渐。供：维持。
恁（nèn）：如此。殛（jí）恼：急躁烦恼。殛，通“急”。急躁。
争克：怎能。罢：停止，这里是忘记的意思。
断弦尤续：古以琴瑟喻夫妻，故男子丧妻成为断弦，此处指情爱断绝。尤，错，过失。
覆水难收：比喻事成定居，无法挽回。多用于比喻夫妻离异难以复合。
诵谈：诉说。
音耗：音信。《周书·晋荡公护传》：“既许归吾於汝，又听先致音耗。”
漫悔懊：空悔恨懊恼。

八六子·如花貌创作背景
此词应为柳永第一次离京不久之后创作的。观词中内容，应为柳永忆妻之妻，而他的妻子似乎是一位非凡的美女，但是却不够“贤惠”，两人之间曾有过矛盾，以至于“渐作分飞计料”，然而闹过之后，妻子“时传音耗”，柳永自己也“悔懊”，反问自己“此事何时坏了”。

此词咏怀一段失败的感情经历，也可以说是感情失败后的回思和反省。联系到柳永的生平经历，词的主人公应为他自己和他的妻子。
词的上片写词人与妻子发生矛盾的过程。“如花貌”，写妻子的美貌，看来词人的妻子是位非常漂亮的女子。“当来便约，永结同心偕老”，这是当初见面定情的誓言，两人曾约定，要永结同心，白头偕老。接下来，词写词人的重情，妻子“为妙年”，“俊格聪明”，柳永对她“多方怜爱”。词写到这里，柳永夫妻之间的恩爱生活便写完了，这本是神仙眷侣般的生活，然而却藏有隐患。词以“何期”来转笔，写妻子心性浅薄，不重誓约。妻子“心性近”，这里却用了“养成”一词，也就是说妻子的这种心性是婚后养成的，这说明柳永在责怪妻子的同时也在责怪自己，因为自己的“多方怜爱”，才导致妻子的“心性近”。尽管如此，两人的矛盾似乎已不可调和，“渐作分飞计料”，已经有了分手的打算了。
词的下片写词人与妻子分开之后，渐渐感觉后悔。“稍觉因情难供”二句接上片写其发生矛盾之后的心态，词人因为爱情难以维持而急恼。然而接下来，“争克罢同欢笑”词笔一转，以反问的语气说自己怎能忘记之前一起有过的欢笑，这段感情自己虽然使自己急恼却是难以中止。“已是断弦尤续”二句又进一步，以“断弦”和“覆水”两句俗语写两人的爱情已无法挽回。如此反复，生动地写出了词人心理的曲折心路。“常向人前诵谈”二句转而写妻子，妻子常常向别人述说两人曾经的往事，又时常寄信过来。两人似乎都有悔意，所谓打不散的夫妻，于此可见一斑。“漫悔懊”二句又折回来，思索这段感情究竟因何步入了这般不可收拾的地步。
整首词一步一进，一步一转，在记写这段爱情经历的同时，又抒发着内心的惋惜与自责。这样一首词，虽没多大意义，也算不上什么好词，但写的真实、自然，平常人的情感，平民化的内容，世俗化的语言，富有生活气息。

柳永，（约987年—约1053年）北宋著名词人，婉约派代表人物。汉族，崇安（今福建武夷山）人，原名三变，字景庄，后改名永，字耆卿，排行第七，又称柳七。宋仁宗朝进士，官至屯田员外郎，故世称柳屯田。他自称“奉旨填词柳三变”，以毕生精力作词，并以“白衣卿相”自诩。其词多描绘城市风光和歌妓生活，尤长于抒写羁旅行役之情，创作慢词独多。铺叙刻画，情景交融，语言通俗，音律谐婉，在当时流传极其广泛，人称“凡有井水饮处，皆能歌柳词”，婉约派最具代表性的人物之一，对宋词的发展有重大影响，代表作 《雨霖铃》《八声甘州》。
