译文
挽了一个松松的云髻，化上了淡淡的妆容。青烟翠雾般的罗衣，笼罩着她轻盈的身体。她的舞姿就像飞絮和游丝一样，飘忽不定。
此番一见不如不见，多情不如无情。笙歌散后，醉酒初醒，庭院深深，斜月高挂，四处无声。
注释
西江月：词牌名。
宝髻：妇女头上带有珍贵饰品的发髻。
铅华：铅粉、脂粉。
“青烟翠雾”二句：形容珠翠冠的盛饰，皆为妇女的头饰。轻盈：形容女子的仪态美。
争如：怎如、倒不如。
西江月·宝髻松松挽就鉴赏
司马光不以词作著名。然而，北宋词风甚盛之时，一些名臣如韩缜、韩琦、范仲淹都能事业之余写出很好的词，司马光也不例外。他的词作不多，遗留下来的只有三首，多系风情之作。其词不加虚饰，直抒胸臆，继承了“国风好色”、“《小雅》怨悱”的优良传统。此词中的“相见争如不见，多情何似无情”，即是写情的佳句。这说明，司马光并非假道学，而能表达真率的感情。
上片写宴会所遇舞妓的美姿，下片写对她的恋情，开头两句，写出这个姑娘不同寻常：她并不浓妆艳抹，刻意修饰，只是松松地换成了一个云髻，薄薄地搽了点铅粉。次两句写出她的舞姿：青烟翠雾般的罗衣，笼罩着她的轻盈的体态，象柳絮游丝那样和柔纤丽而飘忽无定。下阕的头两句陡然转到对这个姑娘的情上来：“相见争如不见，有情何似无情”，上句谓见后反惹相思，不如当时不见；下句谓人还是无情的好，无情即不会为情而痛苦。以理语反衬出这位姑娘色艺之可爱，惹人情思。最后两句写席散酒醒之后的追思与怅惘。
这首小令只幅之内把惊艳、钟情到追念的全过程都反映出来，而又能含蓄不尽，给人们留下想象的余地，写法别致。它不从正面描写那个姑娘长得多么美，只是从发髻上、脸粉上，略加点染就勾勒出一个淡雅绝俗的美人形象；然后又体态上、舞姿上加以渲染：“飞絮游丝无定”，连用两个比喻把她的轻歌曼舞的神态表现出来。而这首词写得最精彩的还是歇拍两句。当他即席动情之后，从醉中醒了过来，又月斜人静的时候，种种复杂的感受都尽括“深院月斜人静”这一景语中，达到了“不着一字，尽得风流”的境界。
从结构上说，词的上片写其人其境，营造出惝恍飘忽，扑朔迷离的意境，下片写自己的感受，性灵流露，雅而不俗，余味深长。全词造句自然，意不晦涩，语不雕琢，随手写来，妥贴停匀，足见司马光作词虽为余技，却也显示出学识之厚与感情之富。

司马光（1019年11月17日－1086年），字君实，号迂叟，陕州夏县（今山西夏县）涑水乡人，《宋史》，《辞海》等明确记载，世称涑水先生。生于河南省信阳市光山县。北宋史学家、文学家。历仕仁宗、英宗、神宗、哲宗四朝，卒赠太师、温国公，谥文正，主持编纂了中国历史上第一部编年体通史《资治通鉴》，为人温良谦恭、刚正不阿，其人格堪称儒学教化下的典范，历来受人景仰。生平著作甚多，主要有史学巨著《资治通鉴》、《温国文正司马公文集》、《稽古录》、《涑水记闻》、《潜虚》等。
