译文
春天，黄莺飞鸣迅速，穿梭于园林之间，时而在柳树上，时而在乔木上，似乎对林间的一切都有着深厚的情感。黄莺的啼叫声就像踏动织布机时发出的声音一般。
洛阳三月，百花争奇斗艳，竞相开放，犹如锦绣。你看那些辛勤的黄莺正忙碌于园林之中，正是它们，费了多么大的工夫，才织成如此壮丽迷人的春色啊！
注释
掷柳：从柳枝上投掷下来，这里形容黄莺在柳枝间飞下时轻捷的样子。迁乔：迁移到高大的乔木上。这里形容黄莺往上飞时轻快的样子。
交交：形容黄莺的鸣叫声。弄机声：开动织布机发出的响声。
洛阳：今河南省洛阳市。花如锦：花开得像锦绣一样美丽。
织得成：织得出来，织得完。
莺梭鉴赏
这首诗描写了农历三月期间，洛阳花开似锦的美好春光。诗的大意说：黄莺在柳林里像穿梭般地飞上飞下，穿来穿去，对春光有无限情意；不时地发出“交交”的鸣叫声，这声音又好像开动织布机时的响声。农历三月季节，洛阳的花儿万紫千红，开得如同锦绣一般美丽，这些彩锦不知得用多少功夫才能织得出来。
这是一首描写春天的作品。全诗中没有一个春字，而洛阳春天锦绣一样的美丽景色却跃然纸上。诗在这里选取了莺鸟和柳树两种素材。鸟儿在丝丝的柳绦中飞舞，让人很容易得想起丝线织成的绣品，而嘈杂的鸟鸣声也好像机器的声音，因此和莺梭这个题目很贴切。后一句有点同情下层劳动人民的意思，洛阳那么大，莺鸟竟然将它装点得五彩斑斓，那要飞得非常久，花非常多的功夫。而三月的洛阳也是因为有手工业者辛勤劳动才使人们能衣着亮丽，使三月的洛阳真正艳丽似锦绣的。
黄莺在这里是被赞美的，它的勤劳换来了洛阳的美丽，而这里面如果没有春天的力量，鸟儿固然不会飞来编织锦绣，柳树的枝条也没有翠绿的颜色，织起来也就不会那么艳丽了。所以赞美黄莺其实就是在赞美春天的勃勃生机，赞美春天带来了万物的欣欣向荣。诗人心中对春天的崇敬之情，通过“多少功夫织得成”来表达，一句感叹将情绪宣泄了出来，和前面的诗句相辅相成，浑然一体。
这首诗善于用明暗的比喻。把柳莺的飞下飞上喻为莺梭，把它的“交交”鸣叫声喻作机声，把洛阳盛开的花儿喻作锦绣，这些比喻形象、生动、传神。在古代写景咏物的小诗中，这也是很有名的一首。
