一年两度锦城游，前值东风后值秋。
芳草有情皆碍马，好云无处不遮楼。
山将别恨和心断，水带离声入梦流。
今日因君试回首，淡烟乔木隔绵州。

译文
一年曾经两次到锦城去游玩，头一次利春风第二次是秋天。
芳草有情碍马蹄不让我们走，彩云片片把楼阁层层来遮掩。
青山把我们隔断产生了别恨，绿水把离愁梦中送到我心田。
今天为你向锦官城回首眺望，只见绵州的乔木和淡淡云烟。
注释
绵谷：地名，今四川广元县。蔡氏昆仲：罗隐游锦江时认识的两兄弟。昆仲，称呼别人兄弟的敬词。
两度：两次。锦城：又称锦里、锦官城，故址在今四川省成都市南。城，一作“江”。
值：适逢，这里作“在”字解。东风：这里指刮东风的时候，指代春天。
芳草：香草。碍马：碍住马蹄。
别恨：离别之愁。
离声：别离的声音。
因君试回首：一作“不堪回首望”。君，指作者遇见的故人。
淡烟：淡淡的烟雾。淡，一作“古”。乔木：主干明显而直立，分枝繁盛的木本植物。乔，一作“高”。绵州：州名，隋始置，治所在巴西县（今绵阳东），其辖地相当于今天四川省罗江上游以东，潼河以西江油、绵阳间的涪江流域。

魏城逢故人创作背景
诗人在游览了成都风景名胜锦江之后，向成都东北行至绵谷（今四川广元县）时援笔吟成此诗，寄给当时与自己共游锦江认识的友人蔡氏兄弟。

魏城逢故人鉴赏
这是一首抒写”离愁别恨“的诗，追忆昔游，抒发对友人的怀念之情是这首七律的双重主题。
首联以赋体叙事，字里行间流露喜悦之情。锦江是名胜之地，能去游一次，已是很高兴、很幸福的了，何况是“一年两度”，又是在极适于游览的季节。两个“值”字，蕴含际此春秋佳日之意。这两句所携带的感情，直灌全篇。
颔联具体写锦江游踪，极写所见之美，写景之笔濡染着浓烈的感情色彩。“芳草有情皆碍马，好云无处不遮楼”，深得锦江美景的神韵，是全诗中最富有诗意的句子。这两句分别承“前值东风”与“后值秋”而来，写出诗人对锦江风物人情的留恋。上句写春景，下句写秋景。明明是诗人多情，沉醉于大自然的迷人景色，却偏将人的感情赋予碧草白云。春游锦城时，锦江畔春草芊眠，诗人为之流连忘返，诗中却说连绵不尽的芳草，好像友人一样，对自己依依有情，似乎有意绊着马蹄，不让离去。秋游锦城时，秋云舒卷，云与楼相映衬而景色更美，故称“好云”。诗人为之目摇神移，而诗人却说，是那美丽的云彩也很富有感情，为了殷勤地挽留自己，有意把楼台层层遮掩。“碍马”、“遮楼”，不说有人，而自见人在。用笔简练含蓄，给人以丰富的想象余地。“碍”字、“遮”字用笔迂回，有从对面将人写出之妙，而且很带了几分俏皮的味道。就像把“可爱”说成“可憎”或“讨厌”一样，这里用了“碍”与“遮”描述使人神往不已的开心事，正话反说，显得别有滋味。这两句诗，诗人以情取景，以景写情，物我交融，意态潇洒娴雅，达到了神而化之的地步。
颈联写告别锦江山水的离愁别恨，极言别去之难。在离人眼里，锦江的山好像因自己之离去，而牵绕着别恨，锦江之水也似乎带着离情，发出咽泣之声。美丽多情的锦城，的确使人魂牵梦绕，肝肠寸断。中间二联分别通过写锦江的地上芳草、空中好云、山脉、河流的可爱和多情，以表达对蔡氏兄弟的友情，寄托对他们的怀念。作者只说锦城的草、云、山、水的美好多情，而不直说蔡氏兄弟的多情，含蓄而有韵味。
末联又因寄书蔡氏兄弟之便，再抒发对锦江的留恋之情。诗人把中间二联“芳草”、“好云”、“断山”、“流水”的缠绵情意，都归落到对友人的怀念上去，说：“今天因为怀念你们，回头远望锦城，只见远树朦胧，云遮雾绕。”用乔木高耸、淡烟迷茫的画面寄写自己的情思，结束全篇，情韵悠长，余味无穷。

罗隐（833-909），字昭谏，新城（今浙江富阳市新登镇）人，唐代诗人。生于公元833年（太和七年），大中十三年（公元859年）底至京师，应进士试，历七年不第。咸通八年（公元867年）乃自编其文为《谗书》，益为统治阶级所憎恶，所以罗衮赠诗说：“谗书虽胜一名休”。后来又断断续续考了几年，总共考了十多次，自称“十二三年就试期”，最终还是铩羽而归，史称“十上不第”。黄巢起义后，避乱隐居九华山，光启三年（公元887年），55岁时归乡依吴越王钱镠，历任钱塘令、司勋郎中、给事中等职。公元909年（五代后梁开平三年）去世，享年77岁。
