译文
北边高地上很多人辛勤地踏水灌地，人们已经尝过了新收割的西水边上的早稻，隔着墙打来酒，炖上细鳞鱼。
忽然间下了一阵雨，使人感到凉爽，可是一会儿连一点云彩也没有了。卖瓜人已走过竹林旁的村庄。
注释
浣溪沙：唐玄宗时教坊曲名，后用为词调。沙，一作“纱”。
常山：县名，今浙江省常山县。
陇（lǒng）：高地。
踏水：用双脚踏动水车。
禾早：早熟的稻米。
尝新：指品尝新稻。
沽（gū）酒：买酒。
纤鳞（lín）：小鱼。
更无：绝无。
霎（shà）时：形容极短的时间。

浣溪沙·常山道中即事创作背景
宋宁宗嘉泰三年（1203年）五月，词人被重新起用，出任绍兴（今浙江绍兴）知府，兼浙江东路安抚使，六月中旬到任。这是词人由铅山赴绍兴途中，经过浙江常山时写的一首农村词。

词的上片通过选取江南农村独具特色的题材和生活场景，描写了乡村生活的安恬美好，表达了洋溢在作者心头的喜悦。“北陇田高踏水频”，北面高地上的农民在不停地踏着水车，灌溉农田。“频”充满动态和声势，也暗示出农民在农忙时节的辛苦勤劳。“西溪禾早已尝新”，与此不远的一个村庄，农民们已收割完早稻，他们已碾出了新米，蒸出了喷香的米饭。“尝”写出丰收年景的来之不易和丰收年景里人们的喜悦。“隔墙沽酒煮纤鳞”，一天的劳作结束，煮上从河里捞到的细鳞鱼，倒上白天买来的酒，有吃有喝，有滋有味，一天的疲惫和辛苦都烟消云散了。上片三句描写的是三幅画面，三幅画面地点不同，风采各异，似同时（或先后）收入作者的眼帘，构成一幅充满生机、生动独特的农村生活画卷。“北陇”“西溪”“隔墙”等词语不仅突出了乡村气息，更暗示出空间的开阔广袤，读来让人思维活跃疏宕，毫无局狭之感。
下片通过夏天风雨不定独特天气的描写，表现了作者宠辱不惊的淡定心态。换头两句“忽有微凉何处雨，更无留影霎时云”，忽然凉风吹拂，接着飘来几星细雨，就在人担心要下雨的时候，抬头望天，带雨的云一眨眼又无影无踪了！表意一波三折，波澜起伏。这两句写夏天独特的天气变化，内容倒平常无奇，但表达上有不凡之处，形式上少了几分词的随意灵活，多了几分诗的整饬和表意的含蓄及理趣。但此时，作者的着眼点并不在风雨阴晴上，而是在最后的结句“卖瓜人过竹边村”一句。有了这一句，前面的风雨阴晴变化即是过眼烟云。至此，小令的境界顿然跃升。
上片先写北陇踏水灌田，西溪收稻尝新，继写沽酒煮鱼。足见农事辛勤，生活安乐。下片写忽降微雨，清凉宜人，转眼云影飘散，蓝天当空，卖瓜人在绿竹丛生的村庄推销产品。通篇清新淳朴，生活气息浓厚，宛如一幅生机盎然的浙西农村图。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
