廖凝（约936年前后在世）字熙绩。江西省宁都县黄陂镇黄陂村人。善吟诵，有学行。十岁时，一次当众即兴咏诗一首，其中 “满汀鸥不散，一局黑全输”句，人皆惊异。廖凝曾仕五代十国时期马殷所建之楚(都长沙)，被李景聘为彭泽县令，他任职不久便“解印归”。后复连州(今广东连县)剌史，不久又归故里。公元951年，楚被南唐攻灭后，他迁居金陵(今南京)，累官江州(今九江)团练副使。
