周贺，[唐]，约唐穆宗长庆元年前后在世（即约公元八二一年前后在世）字南乡，（全唐诗作南卿。此从唐才子传）东洛人(今四川广元西北)。生卒年均不详。初居庐山为浮屠，名清塞。后客南徐，又来少室、终南间。工近体诗，格调清雅，与贾岛、无可齐名。宝历中，（公元八二六年左右）姚合守钱塘，因往谒。合见其哭僧诗有云：“冻须亡夜剃，遗偈病中书”。大爱之，加以冠巾，复姓氏，更名贺。后亦不得志，往依名山诸尊宿自终。贺著有诗集一卷，《新唐书艺文志》传于世。
